Black Privilege - Charlamagne Tha God

อัปเดตเมื่อ 13 ม.ค. 2564

Charlamagne Tha God is an American radio presenter, television personality, and author. Charlamagne writes about opportunities that come to those who create them. You can make the choice to live in a different way and your truth is more than enough to take you to where you want to go.

Highlights:

  1. There's always going to be something better out there for you.

  2. Shit is the best fertilizer; it's what helps flowers grow.

  3. As a culture, we don't allow ourselves to grow. If something doesn't look like "us" or sound like "us," we have a tendency to dismiss it out of hand.

  4. Don't dismiss anything until you explore whether it might have some value for you or someone else.

  5. How you handle your feelings is what sets you apart.

  6. Destiny is not a matter of chance, it's a matter of choice.

  7. In life, second and third chances often aren't an option. If you pick the wrong adventure too many times, there's no coming back. But that too is your choice.

  8. You have to tell people what they need to hear, as opposed to what they want to hear.

  9. Choose to learn from everything life throws at you.

  10. Never tell yourself or others what you or they cannot do.

  11. A pessimist sees the difficulty in every opportunity; an optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty.

  12. When someone offers to help you, tell them exactly what you want. Don't beat around the bush. If you're not crystal clear about what your ask is, chances are you won't get anything.

  13. Good givers are great getters.

  14. Opportunity always comes before money. Put yourself in the position to be a part of this process and then get that money.

  15. If you want to see a person's true character, watch how they treat people who seemingly can't help them.

  16. You're supposed to be busting your ass for "nothing" when you're in your twenties. That doesn't mean you're being exploited. It means you're building up the skills, connections, and reputation to eventually build a platform of your own.

  17. Unless you've got that same sort of talent or have a truly unique idea, you don't own anything but your effort.

  18. Your only value to them is the work you put in.

  19. Remind yourself that you're not bigger than the company.

  20. Measure your success by the opportunities you're presented with and the opportunities you're creating for others.

  21. When you're feeling ugly (or low), ask yourself, what is your "however?" Whoever you are, you can have a "however." If it's already there, then let it shine. If it's not, get to work on developing it.

  22. If you would not be laughed at, be the first to laugh at yourself.

  23. Laugh loudly, laugh often, and most importantly, laugh at yourself.

  24. We've all that one thing, or even a few things, that the world might perceive to be flawed. It's inevitable. Don't waste your time trying to cover it up.

  25. Everyone respects honesty. When you free yourself of all the insecurity and anxiety that's been weighing you down, you'll be shocked at how high you can soar.

  26. If you think you're the smartest person in the room, then you clearly have been in that room - and around the same people - for far too long.

  27. Unfortunately, as we grow older we tend to lose that childlike curiosity.

  28. Instead of pestering our elders to explain the many things we don't understand, we try to act as we know as much as they do, if not more.

  29. You are getting better or you are getting worse. You never stay the same.

  30. They say insanity is doing the same thing over and over again while expecting different results.

  31. Not only do you not know who they are, just as important, you don't know who they're going to be.

  32. Instead of messing with people just because you can, show them support just because you can.

  33. If you're truly coachable, then you know there's a difference between someone being honest with you because they just want to break you down, and being honest with you because they want to build you up.

Treat people the way you'd like to be treated.

*As always, I take no credit.
